DPMP
Decentralized
To ensure secure, robust and democratized networks for commerce, decentralization is key. Traditional client-server models for marketplaces rely on just one main actor to host the service and facilitate the network, increasing vulnerability and centralization.
Peer to Peer
By eliminating the centralized middle actor DPMP allows for sellers to meet buyers and vice-versa without transacting through a middle party which in turn leads to lower fees and an elimination of monopolistic power structures.
Marketplace
The marketplace layer itself is done on top of the DPMP protocol. Each market is different, a marketplace for buying grain is very different from a market for consumer electronics. This architecture allows for a high degree of fixability adaptation.
Protocol
The openness of the protocol allows for other developers to build clients on top of the network for services specific to their market needs, these include services such as payment layers and search.
